Its been almost a week from the release of the Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal“. I got mixed reviews about this version from other blogs. I haven’t tried it yet because I am in love with the 10.04 Desktop Edition and believes that there is no need to switch right now. Finally 28th April is here and here comes the much awaited Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal” . You can simple grab the .iso file from the www.ubuntu.com or if you want it through web there’s another method. Just type “update-manager -d” (without quotes) as the root in your terminal and it will lead you to a series of the up-gradation process. So upgrade it and play with unity 😀

Ubuntu removed the name “Editions” from this release onward .,No desktop and netbook editions. Just “Ubuntu” 🙂 Base kernel for the beta 2 is 2.6.38 . A great news for unity lovers. Unity developed by Cannonical is now the default Ubuntu desktop session and unity launcher comes with many new features. Gnome 3 is expected to be highly compatible with the Ubuntu 11.04 .Gnome developers are working on the .deb package of the Gnome 3.All set for the release of the most popular and friendly distro.
